Budget session of Bengal assembly begins with Governor's address

The budget session of the Bengal Legislative Assembly has started on Wednesday with the speech of Governor C.V. Ananda Bose. Already there was a lot of uproar in the Bidhansabha. Opposition BJP MLAs led by senior BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari started chanting "Chor dharo jail bharo".

As per rules, the Governor read out the budget speech written by the state government, after which the BJP MLAs started raising slogans. The opposition said that under the guise of the Governor's address, an attempt is being made to cover up corruption.

Prior to this, last year too, on March 7, 2022, at the time of the budget address of the then Governor and currently the Vice-President of the country, Jagdeep Dhankhar, the BJP MLAs protested and created ruckus in the same way, due to which the Governor had to stop his speech in the middle. Even today the same situation had arisen but Dr. Bose did not stop his speech and continued to address.

When the Governor was going back after the address, even at that time the BJP MLAs created a ruckus and shouted slogans. However, there was no slogans against the governor but BJP MLAs were raising slogans against the ruling party, due to which a tense situation prevailed in the assembly. The Speaker tried several times to silence them but to no avail.
